Following a careful cleaning process, a new discovery can be revealed to the public among a trove of coins discovered in this summer’s Ophel excavations in Jerusalem: an exceptionally rare silver half-shekel coin, from Year Three of the Great Revolt.

On today’s program, we talk with Dr. Yoav Farhi, who analyzed the coin. The excavation was conducted by Hebrew University’s Prof. Uzi Leibner and fully funded by the Armstrong Institute of Biblical Archaeology, publisher of the “Let the Stones Speak” podcast.
