Hebrew University of Jerusalem professor Uzi Leibner visited the Herbert W. Armstrong College campus in Edmond, Oklahoma, from March 18 through 20. He delivered a lecture to 240 Armstrong College students, faculty, Armstrong Institute staff and members of the public entitled, “Pilgrimage to Jerusalem at the Time of Jesus—What the Ophel Excavations Reveal.”

For the past three years, Prof. Leibner has led Armstrong Institute of Biblical Archaeology staff and Armstrong College students to continue the excavation area of the late esteemed archaeologist Dr. Eilat Mazar. The last three seasons of excavation, a joint project of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Institute of Archaeology and the Armstrong Institute, have further revealed a monumental Second Temple Period structure related to the function of the temple in Jerusalem.
