New Evidence for King David’s Kingdom

A look at the city-planning of four 3,000-year-old cities with Prof. Yosef Garfinkel

Is it possible to link urban planning in ancient Judah with the Bible’s most famous king? That is what Hebrew University Professor Yosef Garfinkel has done in a new academic paper, “Early City Planning in the Kingdom of Judah: Khirbet Qeiyafa, Beth Shemesh 4, Tell en-Nasbeh, Khirbet ed-Dawwara, and Lachish V.”

On today’s program, host Brent Nagtegaal talks with Professor Garfinkel at Hebrew University about the evidence linking David’s kingdom to a simultaneous building program discovered in ancient Judah.
