The famous “Shebna Inscription,” or “Royal Steward Inscription”—a First Temple Period tomb inscription from Jerusalem, with the name of the occupant defaced in an act of damnatio memoriae. Barely the last part of the name is visible—along with his title (matching that of Shebna, in Isaiah 22).
